Most vendors will not quote a number until you have spoken to sales. These ranges come from what vendors publish themselves — their own pricing pages and the cost disclosures they are required to publish for certified health IT. No aggregators, and nothing behind an email form.

The bar is the middle half of published vendor prices. The ends are the cheapest and dearest published price among vendors serving this specialty — real, but not what most practices pay.
The figure above is the software subscription. These are quoted separately, and we put no dollar value on them because vendors do not publish one. Treat it as the list to make them price.
Every figure traces to a vendor’s own published price. This is the whole reason to trust the number above, so it is not hidden behind a link.
Prices come from vendors' own pages and their certified-health-IT cost disclosures. No aggregator data at all — when we checked those against vendors' own pages we found errors on six listings in a day, including one with a vendor's EHR and practice-management prices swapped.
Vendors charge per provider, per user, per visit, per licensed bed, or as a share of collections. Only per-provider figures enter a range. Averaging across units is the most common way published EMR pricing goes wrong.
The typical band is the middle half of vendor midpoints. Min-max produced almost the same span on every specialty, because one vendor's very wide internal range swamped the rest. The full span is still shown.
Where a vendor was running a promotion, the standard rate is what appears here — one renders its promotional price ahead of the struck list price, which reads as though the discount were standard.
Software subscription only. Figures are the vendors’ own published prices as of August 2026 and we re-check them quarterly. Full sourcing on our methodology page. Found something wrong? Tell us on the contact page and we correct it against the vendor’s own page.
